Comic Beginning to Scholars Programme
On Thursday 10th January 2019, our Year 10 Scholars visited Southmoor Academy in Sunderland to attend their first workshop as part of their Scholars Programme. This series of interactive workshops is aimed at providing students with a more informed understanding of the vast array of degree programmes offered at University with the intention of inspiring them to want to go on to a University Education. This first workshop focussed on comic strip drawing and was the perfect way to demonstrate how Universities now offer degree courses to fit the specific skills and interests of any student. Special Thanks must go to Julian Lawrence from Teesside University for conducting an extremely engaging and enjoyable workshop and to Southmoor Academy for allowing us to participate in this programme. The cartoons the students produced of themselves were truly amazing!
